Position: Intermediate Accountant - Fulltime
Cox, Merritt & Co., LLP, Licensed Public Accountants is a firm that has been providing a full range of consulting and professional services to clients throughout the Ottawa, and Eastern Ontario region for over 30 years.
We are currently seeking a talented Intermediate Accountant to join our firm. As the successful candidate, you are working towards an accounting designation or, are in the final stages of your designation. Known for your desire to succeed, you work well under pressure, have excellent attention to detail and you are flexible with respect to changing priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Preparation of working paper files; |
| Ø |
Compiling financial statements; |
| Ø |
Preparation of corporate and personal tax returns; |
| Ø |
Working under supervision on assurance engagements, both audits and reviews: |
| Ø |
Prepare and/or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting standards; |
| Ø |
Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes; |
Qualifications:
| Ø |
Knowledge of Caseware and Caseview; |
| Ø |
Good working knowledge of QuickBooks and Simply Accounting; |
| Ø |
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of products; |
| Ø |
Excellent written and ,verbal communication skills; |
| Ø |
Comfortable dealing with all types of clients and, various levels of employees; |
| Ø |
Diploma in Accounting, or similar field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. |

Position: Senior Technician/Bookkeeper - Fulltime
Cox, Merritt & Co., LLP, Licensed Public Accountants is a firm that has been providing a full range of consulting and professional services to clients throughout the Ottawa, and Eastern Ontario region for over 30 years.
We are currently seeking a Senior Technician /Bookkeeper to join our firm. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible to perform a variety of bookkeeping tasks for our clients both at the client location, and in-house at our office.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform bookkeeping functions such as, but not limited to:

Journal entries; |

Account reconciliations; |

Bank reconciliations; |
| Ø |
Data input; |
| Ø |
Government remittances; |
| Ø |
Payroll - from data entry to issuing pays; |
| Ø |
Monthly accounting cycles and closings. |
| Ø |
Provide administrative assistance as required when at client site. |
Qualifications:
| Ø |
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Offices Suite of products, especially Excel; |
| Ø |
Experience using QuickBooks and Simply Accounting; |
| Ø |
Knowledge of Caseware and Caseview would be considered an asset; |
| Ø |
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; |
| Ø |
Must be flexible, with respect to changing priorities and working with tight deadlines; |
| Ø |
Comfortable dealing with all types of clients, and various levels of employees; |
| Ø |
Must have a reliable vehicle and, clean driving record; |
| Ø |
Certificate or, diploma in Accounting or, equivalent combination of education and experience. |
